Must-see Attractions in Los Angeles

Planning a trip to LA anytime soon? The good news is that, no matter when your trip is scheduled for, the exuberant City of Angels will expect you with its thousands of attractions, shops, concerts and events. Practically, you can make everything out of a LA trip, from a beach vacation to a museum spree.
There are, however, a number of must-see attractions in Los Angeles which represent the very essence of this famous Californian city. You just cannot consider your trip to LA complete without visiting Hollywood or try to get a glimpse at the fabulous life of the stars. Hence, here are my suggestions for a first trip to LA:

Hollywood Boulevard

So many success stories, outrageous media scandals and memorable movies have been connected to this name! Even though Hollywood Boulevard is home to Grauman’s Chinese Theater and to the Walk of Fame, don’t expect to run into Brad Pitt while looking for famous names and signatures on the pavement. Still, the curiosity and souvenir shops alongside Hollywood Bvd. are a great source of fun: you can find anything, from elaborate wigs to costumes and stunt gadgets.

Universal Studios

The Universal Studios theme park is the closest encounter most of us mortals can have with the captivating world of Hollywood. The theme park encompasses all types of attractions and rides, including the notorious The Simpsons and Revenge of the Mummy roller-coasters. The greatest attraction remains the Studio Tour, where special buses take visitors through different replicas of famous movie sets, in an exciting behind the scene experience.

Getty Center

Started out as a millionaire’s private art collection, the Getty center came to represent the most popular museum in Los Angeles. The encompassing exhibits are all situated in an enormous, modern complex of buildings on the foothills of Santa Monica. You’ll get the chance to admire thousands of photos, paintings, celluloid prints and miscellaneous artefacts, as well as superb views over Santa Monica.

Santa Monica Pier

Santa Monica is famous for two things: its shops and its entertainment facilities. The historic pier falls into the second category: its roller-coaster and Ferris wheel have entertained generations of tourists and locals. They’ve been also the filming location for several dozen movies and TV series.

An ocean front villa in Malibu is a synonym to success. People travel here just to drive around and admire the daring architecture of the impressive vacation houses belonging to Holywood’s most successful actors.
