Its warm weather, beautiful beaches and diverse culture have turned Miami into a top holiday destination. There are few American cities that surpass Miami in terms of fame, and even fewest who have managed to acquire the same glamorous image. Traveling to Miami will bring you much more than a tan: you’ll also be able to explore this gorgeous US city, with both its good and bad sides. But for now, lest us concentrate on the first part and see what are the best Miami beaches:

South Beach

This is the trendiest and  biggest beaches in Miami. South Beach is actually the name if a Miami neighborhood, which borders the Atlantic and offers entire kilometers of beaches. You can find various types of beaches, restaurants, hotels and entertainment facilities here, as well as some major attractions. Beaches often take the name of the streets or blocks in their vicinity – so are the 12th Street Beach or the 85th Street Beach, for example. If you are not sure which of these fabulous beaches is best for your (some of them appeal to swimmer, other to families or nudists) all you have to do is drive along the South Beach Ocean Drive and pick your own.

Matheson Hammock Park Beach

One of Miami’s top family beaches, Matheson Hammock Park Beach is located near Biscayne Bay. The name of the beach comes from the surrounding trees. This is a tranquil and welcoming beach, with calm waters perfect for swimmers and shallow enough for children. The beach is equipped with numerous public bathrooms and changing rooms, as well as playgrounds and picnic areas.

Hollywood Beach

This beach might make you think at the bold and flashy capital of film industry, but I can assure you it is nothing like it. Actually, Hollywood beach is very zen, the kind of place that attracts New Agers and yoga fans, but also families and couples. It’s also quite close to Fort Lauderdale, so in the afternoon you can maybe drive there for a sunset cocktail and a brief shopping session.

North Shore Park Beach

Guarded by a greenbelt of palm trees and coconut trees, this scenic beach can be found in North Miami. The neat facilities and natural beauty make this beach a favorite with sun-seeks. Swimmers and families might also like this beach for its numerous lifeguard points. The special facilities at North Shore Park make excising and sports easy to practice, which is why the more active beach-goers will also like it.
